Challenges Addressed
Developed in collaboration with the Smart Mini Factory Lab of the Free University of Bolzano, Wire Cobots is an anthropocentric robotic solution for cable assembly and taping. It is designed as a collaborative system that assists operators in repetitive tasks, significantly improving workstation ergonomics and operational efficiency.
The workstation has been designed using an algorithm developed by the unibz research group, enabling the mapping of manual tasks suitable for human-robot collaboration. The system evaluates the feasibility of converting a manual workstation into a collaborative one, based on operator safety and ergonomics, product and process quality, and production efficiency. WIRE COBOTS is modular, reconfigurable, and easy to program thanks to:
- Ergonomic workstation design
- Buffer feeding system for assembled and/or processable parts (optional)
- Compact layout for easy integration into production environments
- Interchangeable fixtures on the worktable and universal cobot flange
- Programmable LED tower indicating task progress status
